The topic for discussion today is migration: to Linux to be exact. I’ve toyed with the idea of giving up Windows entirely, and I am just about ready to do so…first though, I’m spending some time learning about the innards of Linux, configuring it for the desktop, as well as improving it for the server. I expect that I’ll have some very “interesting” times, particularly since my goal is to replicate my current Windows functionality in Linux. This includes the media center PC that me and Jean-Paul (my son) built, WiFi access, DVD/CD read/write, and the ability to use a couple of other exotic devices.
Check out the how-to article I put together on using my new USB MP3 player under Linux; and feel free to comment on the changes I’m making to the whole site and blog – no flames, please!
Latah, seen.
