As a child, I was particularly enamoured with the microscopic world, and the behaviour and lives of the organisms that dwelt there. I was fortunate enough to receive 2 (!) professional-grade microscopes for my last birthday, and over this weekend, I finally started to reacquaint myself with the usage and operation of these fun (but complicated) tools. As part of that effort, I decided to take a few drops of murky surface water from a vase with a plant that we have in the kitchen.
Amazing!
The micro-life was plentiful and fascinating to watch. I took a few still photos, as well as some short movies of Paramecium in motion – I hope to see and document more of the micro-organisms I see in future, but for now, I’ve posted some of my pictures below.
