A nice little incentive introduced by Skype this week – calls to any phone from US and Canada Skype users are free until end of 2006. The nice thing is that calls to Jamaican phones from North America are also now free over Skype! Excellent stuff; I will able to call my people back a yawd easily, without incurring the hassle and cost of LD service or calling cards. What’s also nice about the latest Skype version is that it is SMS capable if you are calling a cell phone, as well as providing a very capable multi-call conferencing ability. I haven’t tried it with multiple phone targets, but I’ll let you all know my experiences. I expect to be using this heavily next week, since it’s a holiday week both in Canada (Victoria Day) and Jamaica (Labour Day).
