I absolutely agree with the point made by the author, of PM usage in the workplace being more a case of &#8220;do it because we have to&#8221;, as oposed to &#8220;do it because its smart&#8221;, even though every manager I know at work will agree that its essential in delivering systems that meet client expectations. These same managers have said (to me), just like in the article &#8211; &#8220;lets try not to spend too much time on the [documentation|plan|requirements spec], since we have to watch the budget &#8211; heh heh.&#8221;. Frustrating.
